Collating information, gathering intelligence, and synthesizing opinions and describing alternate ways of thinking is a definition of critical thinking. Having freedom means expressing thoughts that can be different from others and doing so free from harm or restriction. The point of diversity in the work place is only partly to provide opportunity to oppressed workers. Diversity is to count in different points of view and finding new solutions to challenges that the existing mindset might not ever notice as worthwhile or have the courage to do otherwise.

Born in the USA and not renouncing citizenship is basic American, therefore all ideas springing forth in support are American. The Red Scare ostensibly ended in the 1950s with the best hearts opposing blacklists and McCarthyism. We need ideas to evolve and lead, and greater divergence of behavior accepted.

Stalking someone for fun, profit or just to know is an illegal situation in states like California. The U.S. belief in freedom and privacy does not coincide with the small world of conspiracy and theft of a person's identity builders or stealing another person's known or potential positions in society. How can checking in from afar on a past relationship with a person, a troubled family, or forgotten client be ethically and warmly done to give distant support when someone might need to hear from somebody nice without bothering their stability?
